Recent TV Show Binges #2

Hey guys!

So first off I wanted to apologise, the second week I was away I had very limited and slow wifi, meaning I couldn't update or really talk to anyone, I only really got wifi when I was out and I didn't have the time to upload on here so I'm really sorry!

I'm also very sorry that this is going to be a fairly short post, but I had to put a few shows on hold recently because I was away (but now I'm back!!!). What I'm saying is I know there's not a lot of TV shows here so I'm really sorry.

1. Love Island
(now on ITV catchup, older seasons on Netflix)

I know, I can feel the disappointment rolling off all of you - but it's just such excellent trash TV and I couldn't stop watching. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about it's a show in the UK where single people are put in a villa together and the 'aim' is to couple up and to find love, the real aim though obviously is the £50,000 prize for the winning couple.

Series 4, the one I was watching, ended on the 30th and I'm so upset I missed it whilst on holiday - and goddamn I wanted to see all the final drama. I just love this, it's so entertaining in a really awful way, but don't get me wrong it can be annoying but so many of them are so cute and sweet (basically Dani and Jack), that it's just beautiful. Also, if any of you are interested in British culture and how it differs from American culture, this is the show to watch to discover how different we are.

2. Reporting Trump's First Year: The Fourth Estate
(Available on BBC iPlayer)

I absolutely loved this series, it focuses on The New York Post reporting on largely Trump's presidency, but also the media coverage surrounding the 'me too' movement at times. It was a really interesting insight into reporters and how they're impacted by Trump and his new America, but also how they choose to report on Trump. I genuinely learnt a lot about the media and how they work, but also Trump in this series, and whilst I didn't agree with all the New York Posts choices it was very interesting.

3. The Young Offenders
(Available on BBC iPlayer)

Now this is based off the movie The Young Offenders which I highly recommend. It's just one of those movies you expect to be shit and then it totally shocks you by being the best film you've watched all year; and whilst this TV series isn't as good it's still pretty entertaining. This is just really easy entertainment and I love it.

4. Lost in Space
(Available on Netflix)

So technically I haven't finished this, but I am only one episode away from finishing so I'm cheating and saying it counts. This is kinda weird, because whilst I've watched this fairly quickly, I'm not actually sure I like it. There are times I love this, I love the concept of the best of the best getting the opportunity to move to another colony away from Earth, and some of the plot at times can be really interesting. I just can't get behind the characters in this though unfortunately, not even the villain.
