Harry Potter Spell Book Tag!

Hi All!

So I am completely out of any post ideas at the moment - and the ones I do have I can't post yet because I haven't read enough this month (I know I cry too). So today I was looking through goodreads and I stumbled across a link to a Harry Potter Spell Book Tag! It seems to be open to everyone (I wasn't tagged because I have no friends - I cry again), so I thought I would give it a go for today's post! Here is the original blog post this featured and thank you to the blogger who created it!

ACCIO - AN UPCOMING RELEASE YOU WISHED YOU COULD GET YOUR HANDS ON

I just wrote a whole post about exciting spring release so this is really tough for me, I have too many to choose from. If I picked from outside that list I've got to say On The Come Up by Angie Thomas - I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS. I can't explain my love for The Hate U Give and now I just want to read everything Angie writes.

ALOHOMORA - FAVOURITE SERIES STARTER

I know not everyone loves this trilogy but I do, and this first book completely one my over with how it started. If you haven't read it I'm not going to spoil the opening for you but oh my god it is amazing in the most 'what the fuck?!' way, and those who have read it you know what I mean.

CHEERING CHARM - A BOOK THAT LEFT YOU FEELING WARM AND FUZZY

Is it too white girl of me to say Carry On? Because I want to say Carry On. Unfortunately, I don't seem to read many books that leave me warm and fuzzy but this did, I just love all the characters and the world Rainbow Rowell built and if this ever becomes a series you can bet your ass I will buy every single book in first edition hardcover.

AGUAMENTI - A BOOK THAT MADE YOU CRY ALL THE TEARS

This book y'all. I'm crying at the thought of it, I just remind reading this one scene and this whole tidal wave of emotions over taking me and I just sobbed. The worst thing was this wasn't even the end of the book so I had to pick it up again and keep reading with tear stained cheeks and blood stained eyes like a loser.

EXPECTO PATRONUM - A BOOK HERO OR HEROINE YOU WANT TO PROTECT YOU IN REAL LIFE

I'm reading To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandro Christo at the moment and I really like Elian and the rest of his pirate crew - I would pick all of them. I think they're fantastic and funny and they don't sound like they would be too bad to look at either.

IMPERIO - A BOOK YOU WISH YOU COULD MAKE EVERYONE READ BECAUSE YOU LOVED IT SO MUCH

EVERYONE SHOULD READ TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD!!! This is one of my favourite books of all time, and it's definitely one of those that every reader should read before they stop reading (but lets be more realistic and say die). Although, don't pick up to Set A Watchman it's pure shite.

ENGORGIO - A BOOK OR SERIES YOU WISH HAD NEVER ENDED

I'm kinda cheating on this one, because technically this hasn't ended - people have been waiting for the conclusion to this series for over a decade. So it's almost like this series ended without it's conclusion and I read these when I was 11, I'm pissed the author has technically ended this with no final book. So my series that I wished had never ended, has technically not ended, but has because we're never getting the final book.

WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA - A BOOK WITH AN UPLIFTING MESSAGE

I couldn't pick between these two - both books that I have read really recently. A Memoir of Conquering Depression and Anxiety as it shows the real ups and downs of mental health recovering, but the end is full of hope and uplifting that I couldn't leave this out. I also picked The Nowhere Girls as whilst this is dark and at times not uplifting at all the end really shows what us girls can do, and ho we can form a bond greater than anything.

OBLIVIATE - A BOOK YOU WISH YOU COULD FORGET YOU EVER READ

I still get angry thinking abut this book, and you can read why here, because I am not going down that rabbit hole again this book is not worth my time.

ANAPNEO - AN AUTHOR WHOSE BOOKS WILL ALWAYS GET YOU OUT OF A SLUMP

So I've not heard anyone talking about this author and his books before but I love them purely for the purpose they're great for getting me out of a slump. I would say these were middle grade but they're full of action and great stories and I love them when I'm in a slump, because I need some action instead of dialogue to get me reading again.

JELLY - LEGS JINX - A SWOON WORTHY HERO OR HEROINE

I feel like everyone is expecting Rhysand - and oh my god yes Rhysand is lovely but no. I really like Cassian, just the way he is with Nesta and how he is in generally is just very swoon worthy and I would happily have that man in a heartbeat.

ARESTO MOMENTUM - A BOOK THAT CAUSED YOU TO STOP YOU DOING ALL OTHER THINGS UNTIL YOU FINISHED IT.

A Court of Mist and Fury - I know, a very typical response from anyone who has read YA but I still think this is Mass' best book to date. I can't help but love it, this is he book where Feyre and Rhysand get together and everything was so well done and beautifully written and oh my god I need to reread it.

CRUCIO - A BOOK THAT WAS PAINFUL TO READ (FOR WHATEVER REASON) OR BROKE YOU.

Tess of the d'Urbervilles, this isn't painful because I like Tess and I feel bad for her hardships, this is painful because I hate this book with every ounce of my being. What makes this even more painful is I have to continually read this for this my A Level course and every time I pick it up I feel a bit of my soul leave me. Thomas Hardy, you are an utter prick for writing this.

RICTUSEMPRA - A BOOK THAT HAD YOU LAUGHING OUT LOUD

Me And Earl and The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews, this is not a book for everyone and the humour is certainly not for everyone but I still found it really funny and would definitely recommend it.

EXPELLIARMUS - A BOOK YOU WANTED TO THROW AGAINST THE WALL

The Catcher in The Rye is pure trash and no one can convince me otherwise, I couldn't even make it past the third chapter.

PORTUS - A BOOKISH WORLD YOU WISH YOU COULD VISIT

I want to live in The Shadowshunter's World that Cassandra Clare has created, I want to be bffs with Magnus Bane and shoot arrows with Alec and laugh with Izzy. I would even happily live in the Victorian period with everyone from Clockwork Angel, and I don't care if I was warlock, vampire or shadowhunter it would just be great.

STUPEFY - A BOOK WITH A TWIST THAT LEFT YOU DUMB

I feel like again this is a very typical answer, but We Were Liars by E. Lockheart shocks me to this day. There are some nights in bed where I just stare at the ceiling and think about that twist because it was so masterfully done.

AVADA KEDAVRA - A CHARACTER YOU WANT TO KILL

Okay, so I've changed this and I hope that's allowed, but honestly I didn't want to answer a question on 'a character death that destroyed you'. One of the characters I currently want to kill or just to die off is Mather from Snow like Ashes series because he's boring and predictable and honestly just a glorified YA stereotype. I don't like him he can fuck off. The other would Jared from The Host who still pisses me off, I think I mentioned why in my review.

FINITE INCANTATEM - BEST SERIES CONCLUSION

Ha, this is tricky - not because I don't read good series but because I have such a problem with finishing them. However, I did finish the Half Bad trilogy by Sally Green and oh my god Half Lost killed me, I sobbed for ages after I read the final sentences, it was just so well done and Nathan and Gabriel are so sad.

I know I'm meant to tag people to do this too but I don't really know anyone so I'm going to take the easy route and tag anyone reading this!
